On- Grid Solar Rooftop Power Plants

On-Grid Solar Rooftop Power Plant is an Solar Photovoltaic Power Generating System that is connected to the utility grid. Electric Power generated by the Solar Panels is Direct Current (DC) is converted to Alternating Current (AC) using a power inverter before it is connected to the utility grid. The inverter is designed to synchronise its AC frequency with the grid, to ensure correct direction of power flow. Generated power is first used in the building as per the requirement and the surplus power is fed to the grid of utility. A bi-directional meter is installed in the supply line to register import and export of power. Net metering arrangements, thus, combine elements of captive power consumption and exchange of power with the utility. An On-Grid Solar Rooftop Power Plant is a very attractive option as it eliminates the use of batteries which otherwise would have required operational maintenance. Since no batteries are used in On-Grid Solar Rooftop Power Plant, making it practically maintenance free. No recurring or operational costs are involved in a On-Grid Solar Rooftop Power Plant.
